Many of these partition utility software suites can manage partitions but they can't repair damaged partitions, especially when the partition table is corrupt so that the system doesn't boot. After much trial and error, I recently solved this problem by loading the OS from the disc drive and performing a chkdsk /f operation. For some reason, a lot of these partition utility programs do not have this feature.
